KINGS RULE TOGETHER
I am currently loving Curran J. I first saw him on one of my fav. fashion bloggers, Nadia Aboulhosn and was inspired. He has a natural keen fashion sense/style, that is quite unique. He uses his talents to open his arms to buiding up his community by uplifting his fellow brothers. With the perspective that there is enough room at the top, so let’s all succeed, he reaches out a hand pulling up those around him. On his website Kings Rule Together, you are able to buy a bit of his fashion, and your are able to see his vision being realized. Check him out!

The Pursuit of Blackness.

I think I fell in love with black when I realized the power it held.

The mystic.

The wonder.

Then I found it even more intriguing after I noticed the negative connotations that came along with it…

black widow.

black hole.

And the most evident, black man.

Who has put such abrogating prevalent ideas in our heads that all black isn’t beautiful? Who has given anyone the right to hustle me of my black; ravish me of my beauty?

So I take that, and I own my black.

My black skin.

My black roots

And my dark moments.

I walk with my widows and tell them to open the curtains and let the light shine through.

I climb out of my black hole of self pity and realize that only I hold the power to regulate my self worth and value.

And I love my black man. My black man . My, my, how far you’ve come.

From being at the bottom of the barrel where the sun don’t shine, to being on top of the free world; making my King’s dream come true.

BLACK is only what we make of it. BLACK is all I know. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL.
